Smart Sustainable Solutions and

Licensable Building Technologies

S3 Advisors LLC is a design and technology firm specializing in sustainable building technologies. By creating and licensing green building solutions that are simple and economical, the company offers clients new ways to meet the challenges of today’s economy.

S3 also takes an advisory role, providing feasibility studies, site planning, design and other services that facilitate cost-effective green building projects. Sustainability is not only good for the future, it is good for business and leads to compelling new ideas and opportunities.

S3’s sustainable technology includes an innovative use of recycled shipping containers as the structural core for a wide variety of building types in many configurations. Modifying them for use in construction is a simple process and many buildings can be completed and delivered to their sites in just a few days.

These steel frame buildings are earthquake and hurricane proof making them a perfect solution for areas that are vulnerable to natural disasters.

The containers are inexpensive and readily available. Thousands are currently sitting empty in ports all over the world. They are fabricated from heavy gauge Corten steel and built to rigorous structural ISO specifications. They “click” together side-by-side and stack vertically up to eight stories high without additional structure needed. An important advantage is that container based buildings can be dissassembled, transported by truck and then quickly reassembled at a new location.

Homes, schools, classrooms, clinics, housing, student dormitories, planned communities and more can be constructed with far greater efficiency and speed than possible with traditional construction. Additional containers can be added as the need arises facilitating phased building projects.

Being Green

S3 is committed to reducing the impact of the built environment on the natural enviroment. Recognizing that ecological challenges are inextricably linked to social concerns, S3 endeavors to create solutions that are low-impact, energy efficient and long-lasting. Every material and system in an S3 design is chosen for its sustainability. Recycled materials, solar based energy systems, water conservation and daylighting techniques are incorporated. Significantly, shipping containers are a 95% carbon-neutral building material.

The cost to build is significantly reduced by the shortened construction time and because there is no cost to frame the structures. Once completed and finished with interior and exterior details and materials, the buildings bear no resemblance to shipping containers.
